UpdateSubscriberStatus Usage
Enables the client to Cancel, Suspend or Restore a subscriber using a specified mode in the request.
When UpdateSubscriberStatus is used to suspend a subscriber because of a lost or stolen mobile device, the response will return a confirmationNumber.
Use Cases
These are some examples of when a partner would use the UpdateSubscriberStatus to update a subscriber’s status:
Temporary service suspension and restore
A subscriber could temporarily suspend their service while traveling abroad to avoid roaming charges. To do this, the partner would use the UpdateSubscriberStatus API to suspend the subscriber's service for the specified duration. Once the customer returns, the partner can use the same API to restore the customer’s service.
Service restoration after suspension
If a customer previously reported their device as lost or stolen, and then either found the device or purchased a replacement, the partner could use the UpdateSubscriberStatus API to restore the subscriber's service. In this case, they would call the API using the confirmation number provided during the initial suspension.
