CancelPort Usage
Cancels a previously submitted request to port in an existing subscriber from another service provider.
With this interaction, the client can terminate the processing of an outstanding "port in" request. This will cancel the processing for all subscriber lines associated with the identified "port in" request.
Partners could cancel a port request if the subscriber number is not eligible for porting, or if the port process was unsuccessful.
Use Cases
These are some examples of when a client would want to use the CancelPort API to cancel the outstanding port in request and prevent further processing:
Incompatible service plan
Suppose a client submits an AddPort request to port in a subscriber from another service provider but later discovers that the subscriber's existing service plan is not compatible with their new provider's offerings.
Operational Requirements
It may be necessary to stop all active number porting if there is an internal requirement for a scheduled system upgrade, maintenance, or other operational requirements. The CancelPort API can be used to efficiently manage the port cancellation process.
